Empowering LGBTQ+ Youth Through Civic Engagement

As hundreds of anti-LGBTQ+ bills continue to be introduced across the United States, many LGBTQ+ youth feel disconnected from the political systems shaping their lives. Yet young people have tremendous power to create change in their schools, communities, and beyond.

Queer the Ballot is Dear Queer Youth's civic engagement initiative, designed to help LGBTQ+ youth become informed, confident, and active participants in democracy. Launching in Fall 2026, we will be creating a comprehensive civic engagement toolkit, hosting workshops, and launching a social media campaign to allow queer youth to exercise their democratic rights and become agents of change in their communities.
